UX Hike!

Details

Capitalizing on the momentum of last night's awesome event, wherein speaker Cory Lebson encouraged focusing on quality, as well as quantity of your professional connections, we're branching out into new territory and encouraging all of you to join us for a lovely morning hike. We've all hung out, had beers, and shared the experience of many events together, but this time we can slow the pace a bit and get to know each other a little better in a drastically less hectic setting.

The Los Penasquitos Canyon trail (http://www.everytrail.com/guide/los-penasquitos-canyon) is a beautiful 6-mile loop through shaded woods, open fields, and rocky hillsides, with the great payoff of a gorgeous waterfall at the halfway mark. The terrain is mostly flat, so no pro hiking experience is required, and the entire trail is dog-friendly; just make sure to bring water and bags, and know your canine's capabilities.

You can reasonably expect the hike to take 2-3 hours, depending on our pace and how long we kick it at the waterfall. (I will say the water feels great on tired feet.) Afterwards, we're only a stone's throw from many lunch spots in Mira Mesa and Rancho Penasquitos. If we do wind up with some four-legged companions, we can consider Callahan's Pub (http://www.yelp.com/biz/callahans-pub-and-brewery-san-diego-2) (8111 Mira Mesa Blvd) as it serves food and is dog-friendly.

We'll be meeting at Canyonside Community Park (https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Canyonside+Community+Park,+Black+Mountain+Road,+San+Diego,+CA&hl=en&sll=37.269174,-119.306607&sspn=15.612483,33.815918&oq=canyonside+communi&t=h&z=17&iwloc=A) near Field 8, which is the SW corner of the park near the intersection of Canyonside Park Driveway and Los Penasquitos Canyon Trail. Look for our sign.

We truly hope to see you there!

Love, SandCHI
