Backpack (1B): Lake Margaret (Delta-Sierra Group)

This is a 'light to moderate' backpack in the Carson Pass area, off Hwy. 89. Less than 3 miles each way, with an elevation gain of about 700'. Good wildflowers are expected. A beautiful lake, with granite slabs nearby, and the lake is warm enough for swimming. A part of the hike in is through scars from the Caldor Fire. Two hiking poles are recommended. River crossings over logs, or bring water shoes for wading. Individual commissary, and you will need all your own gear. The camping area is in a nice grove of fir trees.
Prior backpacking experience is suggested. Forecast of heavy rain will cancel. No minors; pets OK with the prior approval of a leader.
