Hike at Government Canyon State Natural Area - Not a beginner hike

**IMPORTANT - You need to have a day entry pass issued specifically for the park, for the date and time of entry. Having an annual TPWD pass and expecting to show up and use that to gain entry will not work. Go directly to the park and meet at the park office and restrooms near the flagpole at the main headquarters (covered porch area), no later than 8:15 AM as we will begin the hike at 8:30 AM. Please give yourself plenty of time to get in the park as they are a little slow at the entrance.
We will hike about 10 - 12 miles on unpaved trails, with places for people to turn for shorter hikes. This is why the diatance is listed as it is. Bring water. Dress appropriately for the weather. Some parts are rocky so please wear good hiking shoes. This is not a BEGINNERS HIKE, if you are new to hiking do not sign up for this event. There will be a trail you can turn on and do if you only want to do around 6 miles.
