Pops in the Park is a wonderful FREE music series that occurs in various parks in East Sacramento. Arrive early with your blanket, chairs, and picnic lunch to enjoy a wonderful time with the East Sac community music lovers!

McKinley Park

Settle into a soulful, feel-good vibe with Jessica Malone’s blend of retro soul, indie folk, and Americana, carried by rich, expressive vocals that feel both heartfelt and timeless. Alongside her, Clemón Charles brings a smooth, genre-fusing sound—mixing West Indies folk, alternative rock, and jazz with a sultry, raspy edge that adds warmth and depth to the night.

Bre stepped up to gather the Sac Happy Hour troops at the East Portal Pops in the Park, and has offered to do the same for this one. Bre likes to arrive early, set up her recognizable blanket and chair, post a photo, and leave a comment describing where she is. Please give Bre a warm Happy Hour Hello when you find her!

We'll gather at Chili's Bar & Grill for happy hour, then walk over to catch a movie at the Folsom Century Theater. Chili's happy hour includes $3 beers, $5 wine, and $6 margaritas. Cheeseburger, appetizer, and a drink for $11. Bonus - it's $6 movie night. Talk about a cheap date!

Joy and Madness, a high-energy Sacramento funk and soul band, will keep you dancing with their groovy rhythms and bold horn lines. While, Jakhari Smith brings a soulful blend of hip-hop, R&B, and raw emotion, offering a powerful, reflective vibe to balance the upbeat funk.
