ANOTHER BUMMER: The movie won't be released summer 2017 at all now. Hopefully, it will get released later this year. I'll keep everyone updated! See article below:
Total bummer: the movie opening date has been pushed back to June 30, 2017. :-( This isn't the first time that the date has been pushed back, either (see wiki info below). Fingers crossed for June 2017!

"The film was originally scheduled for release on January 2, 2015. However, in September 2014, it was removed from the schedule. In May 2015, it was announced the film would be released on April 15, 2016. When Filmyard Holdings (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filmyard_Holdings) sold Miramax to be IN Media Group (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BeIN_Media_Group) on March 2, 2016, Miramax was no longer the production company of Amityville: The Awakening. It was set to be released on April 1, 2016, but was delayed due to test screening responses and given the release date of January 6, 2017. On December 16, 2016, just weeks away from the film's January 6, 2017 release date, the film was pushed back to June 30, 2017."
