- The circle of concern of a thoughtful caring person is very large, extending from themselves, family, friends, community, town, region, nation, and world. It encompasses human rights, animal rights, environmental protections, now and long into the future.
- The circle of influence we have is rather small.
- How do we wisely resolve the tension caused by this mismatch? A short answer is the Serenity Prayer. Another answer is to take up a particular “cause”. What are other answers? Is this a systemic cause of anxiety?
