The Open Book: remembered

Remember the Open Book at 910 21st Street owned and operated by partners Ron Grantz and Larry Bailey? The Open Book opened their doors in 1995. Closed in 2005. it was a place for queer literature/coffee and a great place to meet our community in a laid back social environment.

Two of my friends (that I know of) met their life partners at The Open Book.

The historic building-- in the Lavender Heights district -- is currently undergoing preservation review by the city council. Primarily as the home of The Open Book but also it was the previous location for medical offices for community leaders Dr. Harvey Thompson & Dr. Sandy Pomerantz.

Let's have a small cocktail party by the pool and thank Ron and Larry for their important contributions to our community and to the city of Sacramento.

Potluck- you bring a small plate of finger appetizers. For those than want-- jump in the pool. This is NOT a clothing optional pool party.
