We invite you to join Houston Shamanism on Saturday, September 9th for, "Discover The Jaguar Within: A Metamorphosis and Empowerment Trance Journey Posture Ceremony.

Doors Open at 6:30 PM for sign in. Refreshments will be served. A self-directed candlelight meditation circle begins at 7 to 7:15 PM to help prepare attendees for the spiritual healing and trance journey work ahead. Doors close at 7:30 PM for ceremony. Latecomers will not be admitted. Event ends by 9:30 PM.

Because there is phenomena at this church (spirit activity), and particularly during the ceremonies, we ask that no children under 15 attend. Everyone MUST sign the waiver at the door. No exceptions.

Parking is FREE inside the gated area. This event is always held indoors on the second Saturday of each month at the First Spiritualist Church of Houston, at 2115 Turner Drive @ Aldine Westfield Road. The location is easily accessed via i-45 to Tidwell or Highway 59 to Tidwell.

We kindly suggest a donation of $10.00 for each person attending. Your generosity helps pay for the use of our spacious, comfortable meeting space inside the church, and a portion goes to our Meetup advertising fees. PLEASE RSVP as soon as you are able. More About The Second Saturday of the Month Event:

All levels of experience are welcome, including beginners.
SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO WEAR AND TO BRING Please wear loose, comfortable clothes so that you can sit or lie on the floor. Bring a bottle of water to drink. You may still want to bring a pillow and something soft to lie on, such as an exercise mat, quilt or sleeping bag. You may also want something light to cover up with in case the air conditioning gets too cool. If you can, bring a rattle and/or a hoop drum or frame drum with a padded beater, please bring them. Feel free to bring any crystals, animal fetishes, or other spiritual objects or bundles that you wish to journey with or put on the mesa to charge up during the ceremony. We look forward to seeing you there!

Through ecstatic trance posture journeying, the goal is to connect with spiritual allies, power animals, ancestors and guides to request healing, knowledge, or discover the answers to perplexing questions. We do have phenomena occurring at our events and spirit activity from the ancestors and spirits of the land that join us in circle to dance, sing and drum. You may hear singing from a disembodied voice, or see spirits dancing and interacting with us in circle. What we do at this gathering cannot be fully appreciated unless experienced. Please come with an open mind and a willingness to participate in ceremony.

Dress comfortably in loose fitting clothing as we will be sitting, standing, and/or lying down. We do have chairs for anyone who cannot get on the floor. Bring a traditional frame drum and rattle (not required) if you have one, a bottle of water, a blanket in case you get cold, and a journal if you wish to record your experiences. We have a few extras you may also use.

Sacred Circle and Houston Shamanism appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide our members a safe experience.

We are NOT a dating, advertising, sales, entertainment or promotional group; therefore we ask anyone attending to please refrain from networking during our meetings or events.

We are an alcohol-free and drug-free event. We do not use psychotropic "plant medicines" during any of our ceremonies or events. We always use drumming and rattling to facilitate trance journeying which is completely safe and fully effective.

No attendee is permitted to burn their own sage bundles or incenses during ceremony.

Attendees should not touch or move objects on the mesa, interfere with or "tinker" with the flow of energy in the circle that has been set prior to your arrival. Please enter and exit the circle in a clockwise motion.

Once ceremony has begun and the doors are closed at 7:30 PM, anyone who leaves the building will not be permitted to re-enter due to safety concerns. Late-comers will not be admitted.
