ABSTRACT
MeetUp for researchers and developers from the automotive and AV community, with a focus on applied ML and computer vision engineering. Synthesis AI CEO and Founder Yashar Behzadi will lead a panel with Marco Pavone, Director of Stanford University’s Autonomous Systems Laboratory (ASL) and Autonomous Vehicle Research at NVIDIA, and Gautham Sholingar, Senior Manager, Product at NVIDIA.
The research panel will cover:

• Models for in-cabin DMS/OMS and ADAS, with a focus on EuroNCAP and NHTSA requirements
• How synthetic data can be used to train in-cabin and exterior computer vision systems for autonomy, ADAS, object detection and activity recognition
• The observed impact of generative AI for automotive simulation, from the lab to the track to the streets
• Current research on advances in CV engineering from Synthesis AI, Stanford ASL, and NVIDIA

Marco Pavone PhD (Panelist)
Dr. Marco Pavone is an Associate Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University, where he directs the Autonomous Systems Laboratory and the Center for Automotive Research at Stanford. He is also a Distinguished Research Scientist at NVIDIA where he leads autonomous vehicle research. He received a Ph.D. degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2010.
Gautham Sholingar (Panelist)
Gautham Sholingar is a Senior Manager on the AV Simulation Product team working on synthetic data generation and simulation for autonomous vehicles. Gautham has several years of experience working in simulation, AI/machine learning, and automated driving, with prior roles at Ford Motor Company and MathWorks. Gautham holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
Yashar Behzadi PhD (Moderator)
Yashar is the CEO and Founder of Synthesis AI, the industry leader in synthetic data for automotive computer vision applications. He is an experienced entrepreneur who has built transformative businesses in AI and data. Yashar has over 30 patents and patents pending and a Ph.D. from UCSD with a focus on computer vision and AI.
