Let's Get Sailing Again

This "event" is just to let you know I will be restarting this group with racing and cruising events. Primetime sailing is now. I am getting my 34' J105 back to racing condition and will host events aboard "Zippity" to train crew and participate in racing events on Galveston Bay. We can also do cruising events to have some fun and relax.

My friend has a Hanse 415. A 41.5' Hanse which is very comfortable for a delightful cruise on Galveston bay and possibly beyond. The boat has raced The Harvest Moon Regatta (150 Miles to Port Aransas) and is very capable. We can have events on there, too.

Crew training events will involve actively learning crew positions to familiarize any level sailor with racing. Training will include basic mechanics of preparing the boat, tacking upwind, setting a spinnaker, jibing and take downs. We can then move into doing this on a simulated race course and learn about mark rounding . We can touch on strategy and tactics, also.

Cruising events will be more to come and relax and enjoy the peace available on Galveston Bay. I can work in as much teaching as you are interested in.

Either of these programs ( cruising or racing) will develop with your interests, just let me know and we can design an event to go for a swim, fly a spinnaker, decompress, bring the kids, etc.

Pricing will variable, generally $50 per 4 hour event. I am going to see if this platform will let me schedule say three training events for one price.

Last minute changes due to weather or unforeseen circumstance necessitate solid communication lines. I hope to gather truly interested sailors and future sailors so I can help you go sailing as far as you can dream.
