What we’re about
Compassionate Action for Animals encourages people to embrace their empathy for animals and move towards a plant-based diet so all animals, human and non-human, can thrive. We welcome everyone who is vegan, moving towards plant-based eating, or looking for information or support.

## Why Writing for Animals Matters
Local papers reach millions of readers every week. Published articles on animal issues reach a broad spectrum of people. Writing is a way for animal advocacy to reach people it never otherwise would. And, most importantly, coverage of animal issues effectively raises public awareness and causes many readers to reduce their consumption of animals and animal products.## The New Writing for Animals Group
This class will kick off the new Writing for Animals Group! The group will create and support pro-animal writing in Minnesota. We will meet online on the last Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm, where we will:- review recent op-ed opportunities about animal welfare and rights;
- peer review (1:1) writing that we have done to strengthen it; and
- if there’s time left over, there will be quiet time set aside for writing.
Even if you can’t make it to this May class, you can register here to get the Zoom link for future meetings of the writing group.
This Writing for Animals class is valuable as a stand-alone class or as an entry point for the Writing for Animals Group. The tools and tips you gain from the class are a good foundation for whatever advocacy writing you end up doing. Be prepared to make a big impact with what you learn! - Talking about Veganism: Tips for Outreach & BeyondLink visible for attendees
