Club de Lectura 📖

Hello everyone. My goal with book club is to read stories from different countries, from perspectives of different types of characters, and to have critical discussions on the the things we learn and discover. It's ok to not like a book, and it's ok not to like a character - we can discuss why we don't like aspects of the books. If you want to sit out during a book that's ok too.

If you do decide to read with us, think about what you can get from the experience. Do we not like characters because we don't want to be like them? Does the perspective of the character clash with our values? Do characters act a certain way because of the unique challenges they face in their country and culture? Do the characters have different identities from us - making them hard to relate to?

You do not need to answer these questions during book club, but they are there for your consideration to help with connecting with a book that you may not fully enjoy. think about what you might be able to gain from each book.
