Secular Sunday Breakfast at Maiz Cocina Mexicana

I keep coming back to Maiz for the delicious, authentic Mexican breakfasts—and the great service and comfortable atmosphere. If you haven’t tried it yet, this week is a good time to join us.

We’ve had a lot of first-timers lately, which has been great to see. While I enjoy catching up with the friends I’ve made here, part of my original reason for starting this group was to create a real secular community in San Antonio. Not a fringe circle of the stereotypical “angry atheists,” but a group of everyday people whose belief—or non-belief— in an all knowing God in the sky doesn’t define them as human beings.

Sure, the topic of atheism comes up now and then, but it’s not necessarily what drives the conversation. We ask that everyone just shows up curious, open, and respectful.
