Join me for a Sunday morning hike along Sawyer Camp Trail, a pleasant paved pedestrian and bike path that snakes along the banks of the picturesque Crystal Spring Reservoir. This is an easy walk/hike on a paved trail with wonderful view of the reservoir, and a pleasant groves of Coastal Live Oak, Bay Laurels, and a well known 600 year old Jepson tree. You’re pretty much guaranteed to see black-tailed deer this time of year as well. This a an easy hike, more of a stroll if anything, with both open spaces and tree coverage. Having said that, please bring at least 1 liter of water, some snacks for fuel, and sunscreen. We will be meeting at the Sawyer Camp Trailhead South with parking just off Skyline Rd. Please note that on weekends it can get quite busy, there is additional parking alongside the road further South (past the dam) and also parking along the road to the North as it climbs uphill past the intersection with Crystal Springs Road.

Meeting spot and start time: We will meet at the Sawyer Camp South Trail head near the restrooms at 9:45 and start hiking promptly at 10 am!

Carpooling: Anyone coming from Redwood City or San Carlos feel free to message me regarding carpooling from the park and ride off Edgewood Road. Otherwise feel free to arrange your own carpool.

South Access: Crystal Springs Road/Skyline Blvd intersection. Limited parking (< 10 spots) at the dam, most people will find parking alongside Skyline Road.

Optional Lunch: I’d like to have lunch afterwards maybe in San Mateo, Hillsboro, feel free to message me with any recommendations or suggestions!

Hope to see y’all there!
David
