Next Generation Sequencing: Data Analysis in the Cloud

Details

Come join us for an event, hosted by the Machine Learning Society - Bioinformatics Division, focusing on the incredible developments happening in Computational Biology!

Join our Hangouts chat( https://hangouts.google.com/group/BaYPHMtSovG4sDHI2 (https://hangouts.google.com/group/BaYPHMtSovG4sDHI2)) to discuss this event with other attendees.

Next Generation Sequencing data is one of fastest growing categories of data in the world, rivaling video and growing at an astronomical (or genomical) pace. The tools, technologies, and vendors in this space are moving just as fast. However, whether setting up a simple genomics pipeline, or an entire analysis platform, the scope of the challenges are enormous. Operationally, these include computation on a massive scale, constantly evolving algorithms, and rigorous security requirements. Commercial organizations have additional considerations, from regulatory requirements and intellectual property to finding the right balance of speed, cost and flexibility.

Come hear a panel of experts discuss the challenges and opportunities of working in this rapidly growing field. Please join us for what is sure to be a fascinating evening.
