The Blues-Rock Meetup Group has been hosting jam sessions since 2017. Each musician who signs up for this jam can suggest one or two songs, and we can practice the songlist before the day of the event.

The Blues-Rock Meetup Group has been hosting jam sessions
since 2017. We have been playing covers of classic rock songs
for these jams. Now, I want to get musicians together to
improve our solos and extended jams.

Musical improvisation can begin with a song we all know, and stretch out the solos and melodies, Improv Rock can also be unscripted, starting with a guitar/bass riff, drum beat, or a drone sound, Unscripted songs are a conversation between musicians; Each musician’s solo takes the song into a new direction. We can improvise over rock, blues, metal, funk, fusion, or psychedelic arrangements.

It would be fun to create our own arrangements of songs:
(1) extending the solos (2) creating conversations between instruments (3) adding time changes- playing fast and then slowing it down
(4) atmospheric/ambient excursions (like Pink Floyd)

My idea is to create a practice group that meets several times a month and have fun working on ideas. Members of our band who would like to perform at events can also schedule an audition for that group.
