Borrowing from the Movie "Field of Dreams" Are we in Heaven? No this is Poway!
The Maderas Golf Course has been rated the number one golf course in San Diego for five years running and number six in the State of California.
Maderas is a spectacular San Diego golf course designed by Johnny Miller and Robert Muir Graves. The beauty, challenge and thrilling shots that can be found on the course have earned the club numerous accolades. Maderas is one of only two San Diego area golf clubs to be recognized by Golf Digest as one of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses” .
Playing Maderas is truly a a special opportunity.
Date of play is Tuesday May 19th. 16 Players. Four groups. First group tees off at 2 PM.
I have been able to secure a rate of $179 which includes the cart and use of the practice facilities. There are no extra charges.
I realize this is a bit pricy for many of you in our group. I understand that. I will tell you however the average round golf played at Maderas costs well over $280, with the cart and all fees, so this is an exceptional rate.
I'm going to ask please for you to send me $100 when signing up and the balance of $79 please by May 1st. For those of you who want to send the whole $179 now of course I will accept it.
Those of you who have played with us before know to send me payment via Zelle or PayPal. New comers I will message you instructions.
I'm going to open it up to the membership first before opening it up to guests.
No social event if planned after this event so you can factor those savings into whether you want to join us.
Maderas is located in the North Eastern section of the City of Poway at 17750 Old Coach Road Poway CA 92064. Above the course are multi million dollars home and numerous sports athletics and celebrities reside here.
When Poway became a city, in 1980, fearful of being annexed by the City of San Diego, and becoming the next Mira Mesa, our city fathers laid out a plan for the new city. Where the homes would go, shopping centers, business park, etc. Most of it developed as it was planned except this area. The plan for this area was small homes on four to five-acre plots so people could have plenty of rooms for horses on this then rural land. Never did our founding fathers envision what this area became. Never did they think it would become Rancho Santa Fe East or Beverly Hills South! Never! In Poway just amazing ! See you at Maderas!
Thank you Joe
