What we’re about
Calling all compassionaries! Here is a group for anyone longing to grow real, authentic compassion for yourself and the world around you. We cultivate compassion through personal reflection, guided meditation, mindfulness practices, and intimate small group sharing. We seek to create a true community and safe space for the experience and expression of self. Permissions are always given for sharing or not sharing, following or not following the guided meditation, naming a Sacred Presence in personal ways that feel right (or not), and arriving or leaving when needed. Group sharing is intended to be free from cross-talk, judgment, criticism or correction. All are welcome to join in this contemplative learning experience.
This Compassion Practice Meetup is hosted by BELOVED Compassion Network, and supported in part by BELOVED Way. Learn more about us at https://belovedcompassionnetwork.org.

LA Fires Compassion-Based Support Group (In-Person)
Location not specified yetThis group is gathering in-person at South Pasadena Christian Church, located at 1316 Lyndon St. South Pasadena, CA 91030. Register for this in-person group.
After the devastating LA fires, where can we, our families, friends and neighbors find the emotional and spiritual support needed to survive and thrive on the journey to recovery?
This Compassion-Based Support Group offers anyone impacted by the LA fires a compassionate space to be heard, to begin healing, and even to become hopeful. Come one night, two nights, or all of them. This is your space.
Led by experienced facilitators of compassion-based practices, each gathering will use mindfulness, visualization, and imagination to promote internal grounding and nurture understanding of our own fears, longings, and wounds.
Small breakout groups will offer an experience of nonjudgmental, compassionate listening to those who choose to share. Facilitators will hold compassionate space that is free from cross-talk, comparison, criticism and correction. Participants will be invited to welcome the Sacred Presence they know to companion them along the journey.
We welcome anyone who lost their home, who cannot live in their home, who was personally traumatized by the fires, who has friends and family who were traumatized, who is a first responder or long-term caregiver…anyone who is in need of compassionate space and supportive community.

Self-Compassion During Difficult Times — Thursday Evenings
OnlineRSVP required to receive the Zoom link! Please let us know you'll be joining us here: https://forms.gle/mzKHELnbUwferFZcA
As we face difficulties and challenges in our lives, you are invited to gather online with an intimate, contemplative community where you and all your angst can be held and be heard and be loved. Close your eyes and allow your mind to rest. Open your heart to the flow of true compassion for yourself and find calm, confidence and courage.
The Compassion Practice uses mindfulness, visualization, and imagination to nurture understanding of our own fears, longings, and wounds. In turn, understanding of the fears, longings, and wounds of others become more imaginable. Grounded in the belief that all persons possess the capacity for care and connection — even those we are tempted to write-off and dehumanize — the Compassion Practice gives practitioners a way to begin sensing true loving regard for others. A small interreligious group led by trained CP facilitators will meet online to cultivate self-compassion and compassion for the difficult others we know.
All are welcome. No cost. Bring your curiosity.
We practice open-hearted sharing and nonjudgmental, compassionate listening based on the Compassion Practice developed by Frank Rogers, Jr. Incorporating mindful attention to our internal experience, the Compassion Practice nurtures authentic compassion for others — starting with ourselves. Trained Compassion Practice facilitators invite interfaith group sharing free from cross-talk, criticism or correction. All are welcome to engage in this contemplative learning experience!
