Introduction to The Khronos Group (http://www.khronos.org) presented by Peter McGuinness with an overview of the machine vision standardization work they are doing. This includes a description and status update of the SYCL, OpenCL, OpenVX and NNEF standards.

Peter McGuinness has a long career as a chip designer, architect and researcher. He became involved in graphics chip design in 1984, and has worked on GPUs as an architect at Nvidia and architect/design manager STMicroelectronics.

As Director of Research at STMicroelectronics' San Diego Advanced Systems Research lab, he ran projects working on advanced graphics including ray tracing and on computer vision and computational photography, notably a project to build a free-viewpoint video studio. Between 2005 and 2016 he moved into the business and marketing side at Imagination Technologies where he was involved in projects at a number of leading graphics and vision companies including Apple, Microsoft and Google.

Peter is currently an independent analyst and Chairman of the Neural Network Exchange Format working group at Khronos. He runs the visualisetheworld.com (http://www.visualisetheworld.com/index.php/b/) blog and produce a quarterly vision industry report 'The VPU Report', available for licensing and published by Jon Peddie Research.
