Hey Guys, let’s hike Martian Mountain from a starting route in Sorrento Valley. Martian Mountain is a Hidden San Diego gem with views to the Torrey Pines State Beach. This means there will be a stunning sunset (provided no clouds). It’s called Martian Mountain because the red rock surface of the hills surrounding the peak.

We’ll grab some food after at Karl Strauss, or maybe a place on Mira Mesa Blvd…Indian, Mexican, we’ll decide then.

MEETUP LOCATION:
Meet at the end of Sorrento Valley Rd across from the ABX Collision Ctr

TIMING:
We will meet and greet at 5:45pm
We start promptly at 6:00pm (plan your trip, arrive on time)

Hiking Distance: ~5.5miles (~12,000 steps)
Elevation gain: ~350’
Difficulty: Beginner, Moderate
Parking: Park on Sorrento Valley Road

WHAT TO BRING:
Water ( I take 3 liters; I sweat a lot & I prepare for the worst)
Backpack
Snack (an apple, an orange, electrolyte replenisher)
Sturdy Hiking Shoes (ensure the soles have tread)
Head Lamp
Optional hiking Poles
