Sunset Hike to Double Peak and support the Alzheimer's Association

This is the culmination of our “The Longest Day” or TLD hiking series to remember those friends and family members fighting Alzheimer’s Disease. Every day is the Longest Day when you are suffering from dementia or caring for someone who is. There have been a dedicated group of volunteers who have been raising money to support research, services and advocacy.
Also look for a separate event that's a celebration party with live music and a silent auction at Local Roots in Vista!

We will be hiking from Discovery Lake Park to Double Peak Park. The route is 4 miles but it's considered challenging because of several steep inclines and is a mixture of paved and dirt trails with one small section that's rocky. Be sure to bring a headlamp or light source. We will be hiking down at twilight but some sections will be dark. Please be sure be to prompt as we will leave right at 6:40 to make sure we get to the peak by sunset. We will rest and enjoy the 360 degree view when we get the the top.

What To Bring:
-At least 1.5 liters of water, water bladder
-Good hiking or trail shoes
-Electrolytes
-Snacks
-Wear layers, the temperature can change quickly
-Sunglasses
-Hiking poles (handy for steep sections)
-headlamp
-Wear purple (optional but highly encouraged for this hike)
