Beginning backpacking Coast Camp at Point Reyes

Coast Camp is an easy 2 miles down the beach from the trailhead parking lot at Limantour Beach. The perfect chance to work out the kinks in your new gear and figure out what not to do, or maybe get tips from others and see what gear they are using. Winter on the north coast is often clear and warm, and the beach/ocean photography can be very good. Sculptured Beach 1 mile south from the campsite is a fun section of caves, sea stacks, and coves. Campsite has fresh water and bathrooms.
