DESCRIPTION:
Learn about how Erlang/Elixir let AdStage implemented the next generation of their query service which allows users to express custom functions over multiple types and sources of data, using familiar abstractions and powerful mechanisms from the Elixir/Erlang ecosystem. This allows all the marketing teams that rely on AdStage to report and automate their performance data.
SPEAKER BIO:
Blake is a software engineer architecting and building systems at AdStage. He was accidentally exposed to PHP at the age of 12 when an online friend made him an admin of a fan website of a popular RTS game. Although he did not gain any superpowers from that experience, he has been coding in a form or another ever since. After spending multiple years banging out Ruby and Clojure code, he has found Elixir to represent the best elements of both languages, and has been a staunch advocate ever since.
