The Evening of the Eve of All Hallows Eve in the Spooky Pac Heights
Details
On the day before Halloween, what could be more fun that a walk through a beautiful neighborhood filled with haunted mansions? Join us for a hike with some great views, interesting architecture, grand houses, and beautiful parks. We'll have the bonus of seeing some of the great homes at their creepiest.
We'll meet at the Steiner Street side of the Loop Gas Station on California, and begin walking at 5:30 on the dot. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in and use the restrooms (at Loop or across the street at Mollie Stones). We'll zig and zag around Pacific Heights between Lafayette Park and Presidio.
This walk is easy to moderate, with a couple of up and down hills and stairways. We'll take our time and enjoy the views and the ghouls. It gets dark early, so we'll try to make it back to our starting point in under two hours.
GETTING THERE: Loop is at the southwest corner of California and Steiner Streets. Neighborhood parking can be pretty easy to find on the side streets, or there's a paid lot on California next to Johnny Donuts. Do not park at Mollie Stones- they ticket and tow,
Muni bus # 1 (California) stops directly across the street at Steiner or Pierce and California. #22 (Fillmore) stops 2 blocks away at Sacramento and #24 (Divisadero) stops 3 blocks west. BART users should exit at Montgomery Station and transfer to a #1, or at 16th Street and transfer to a #22.
ATTENDANCE- We ask that our members respect our RSVP attendance policy by signing up only if they intend to come, and updating their RSVP if they have a change of plans. No-shows, habitual late- cancels, and place-holders can be removed from the group without warning. Crashers will be turned away. This hike is only available to City Steps members.
DOGS are always welcome on my walks. They must remain on leash at all times. Make sure to bring extra water and poop bags.
SAFETY: You are responsible for your own safety on all City Steps walks. Your "yes" RSVP confirms that you have read and agree to the Liability Waiver that can be found at the bottom of every Meetup.com page.
WHAT TO BRING:
