Fostering Resilience in the New Year: An Online Community Women's Writing Circle

Join Free-Range Writing Women's Circles for a healing online writing session tailored specifically for women. In this supportive and critique-free 1-hour interactive writing session, you will engage in guided writing exercises that will help you explore your emotions, reclaim your stories, and empower yourself through the written word.

Meesha Halm, author, book coach, and founder of Free-Range Writing, a radically supportive online writing community for everyday women, will guide the group through a timed writing practice designed to help you tap into your authentic writing voice. She will read a poem to the group to inspire us and suggest a couple of lines to use as writing prompts. You'll spend 10-15 minutes writing to each prompt, with the pen never leaving the page. The idea is to get a lot of words down without pausing to consider whether the words are “good enough.” We try to say yes to whatever comes up and get comfortable writing as our complicated, messy, real selves. This is how we find our authentic voice.

You’ll leave with a handful of juicy writing and, quite possibly, some excavated inner truths. You can share a piece you wrote with the group at the end of class. Sharing is voluntary, but that’s where the real magic happens. More about that in class……

Whether you are a seasoned writer or new to the practice, this circle welcomes women of all backgrounds and experiences. You don’t have to consider yourself a writer at all. You only need a notebook, a pen, and an open heart.
