In this very experiential and fun class, you will learn all about the wonderful evergreen trees (pine, redwood + more) and wild plants growing near you and how to make some good herbal medicine through ethical wildcrafting and foraging.
This will be highly experiential and an on-foot class in Golden Gate Park of San Francisco. Our journey will begin with a meditation in a redwood tree grove near HAUM in the Haight, followed by a wild plant and tree magic walk.
We will go over the ethics and important considerations for wild foraging from evergreen trees, as well as wild herbs and plants. We will connect with some powerfully medicinal trees, herbs and plants growing in plain sight. You will learn how to ethically wildcraft resin from a tree to make skin and wound healing salves, and also how to harvest new fir tips to make a highly medicinal tea if you choose.
The deep and powerful wisdom of the herbal realm has mostly been forgotten in our modern culture. Plants, flowers, trees and herbs are incredible allies for our health. Opening up your vision to the medicinal plants growing everywhere is a key to seeing beyond what is often called the “green wall” of nature. Knowing what you are seeing is a very exciting revelation.
Note : This class will be outdoors so please make sure to dress accordingly with warm and cool layers as we know the weather can shift easily in the SF Bay Area. And be prepared in case it rains! Please also wear good hiking-type shoes! This class is on rain or shine, and will be a lot of fun! This class is open to those who are curious, and want to deepen in their awareness of working with what I call our “green allies.”
IMPORTANT NOTE : Please make sure NOT TO BE LATE as we will meet in front of HAUM in the Haight on Stanyan Street (780 Stanyan), and then we will walk together to the park nearby so if you are late you could miss us!
