Waterfront Hike to the Richmond - 7.5 miles, 500 ft elev

We will be doing a moderate level, point to point urban hike in San Francisco from the Ferry Building to the Richmond District, near Clement Street and 12th Avenue. This hike is for INTERMEDIATE HIKERS only. The route will offer wonderful views of The Embarcadero waterfront and the flora and fauna of the Presidio along a 7.5 mile route. After the hike those interested can head to a local bar for libations and food near the destination.

THIS EVENT HAS A WAITLIST. DO NOT SHOW UP FOR IT UNLESS YOU HAVE RECEIVED AN EMAIL SAYING YOU CAN ATTEND. NO CRASHERS AND NO PLUS ONES ARE PERMITTED.

We meet at 10:00 am outside the Ferry Building on The Embarcadero and depart promptly at 10:15 am. We will head along the waterfront via Fisherman's Wharf and Crissy Field into the Presidio, passing through the Palace of Fine Arts and the LucasFilm campus to see the Yoda Fountain. We will take a break at Tunnel Tops Park to have lunch/snacks and use the restroom. From there we will head southwest through the park to Mountain Lake Playground for one more restroom stop before exiting the park at 12th Ave to reach our destination at Clement St.

Bring plenty of water, snacks and lunch. Dress for the weather.

Directions
The meeting spot is outside the Ferry Building on The Embarcadero, below the clock tower.

From The Embarcadero BART Station walk east one block. The 14 Bus and N Bus also stop close by. The 38/38R Bus stops a few blocks away at the Salesforce Transit Center.

From our destination at 12th Ave and Clement Street you have the following public transportation options to return to the Ferry Building:

• The 38/38R Bus on Geary Blvd to the Beale Street stop.
• The 1 Bus on California Street to the Clay & Drumm Streets stop.
