Ferry Building - Mission Bay - Civic Center Hike - 7.0 miles, 150 ft elev

We will be doing an intermediate level one-way hike in San Francisco, starting from the Ferry Building to Mission Bay, then continuing to the Civic Center. This hike is for INTERMEDIATE HIKERS only. The 7.0 mile route will offer many unique views of San Francisco’s industrial central waterfront, as we pass through Mission Bay, Bayfront Park, Crane Cove Park and Warm Water Cove Park before heading to Civic Center Plaza. After the hike, anyone interested can join us for drinks and food at a local bar (possibly Biergarten or Boozeland ).

THIS EVENT HAS A WAITLIST. DO NOT SHOW UP FOR IT UNLESS YOU HAVE RECEIVED AN EMAIL SAYING YOU CAN ATTEND. NO PLUS ONES ARE PERMITTED ON THIS HIKE.

We meet at 10:00 am outside the Ferry Building on The Embarcadero and depart promptly at 10:15 am. We begin the trek by heading south along The Embarcadero into Mission Bay where we take Terry Francois Boulevard to Bayfront Park and Crane Cove Park. After a stop in Crane Cove Park for lunch and the restroom, we will continue south to explore Warm Water Cove Park. From there we turn north to hike along Illinois Street, 16th Street and 7th Street leading us to our destination Civic Center Plaza.

Bring water, snacks/lunch and dress for the weather.

Level: Intermediate level. You will be expected to hike an average of 2.5 to 3.0 miles per hour.

Weather: Rain cancels, but we hike in intermittent showers.
Pets: Dogs/cats are welcome to come along.
Restrooms: At the Ferry Building (mile 0.0), China Basin Park (mile 1.5), Crane Cove Park (mile 2.8), and Main Public Library (mile 7.0).

Directions
The meeting spot is outside the Ferry Building on The Embarcadero, below the clock tower. From The Embarcadero BART Station walk east one block. The 14 Bus and N Bus also stop close by. The 38/38R Bus stops a few blocks away at the Salesforce Transit Center.

From our destination at Civic Center you have the following public transportation options to return to the Ferry Building:

• BART and Muni are at Civic Center Station.
• The 9 Bus is at Market and Larkin Streets.

Paid parking available at Four Embarcadero Center.
