Details

*To clarify my original post ~ there's no cap on how many can attend.*
A few people messaged me asking about the max number of attendees. Meetup made me put a number in, and 10 was the cap unless I paid for a pricey upgrade, so I just went with 10. But there’s no actual limit—come one, come all!

Black Cat is San Francisco's quintessential jazz supper club. It features world-class jazz artists from around the globe, artfully crafted cocktails, classic champagnes, a wine list highlighting international and artisanal varietals, and new American cuisine. The bi-level interior is thoughtfully designed, showcasing blackened exposed brick walls, photo murals, lush antique velvet, distressed leather, and vintage gold finishes. The contrasting visual touches embody a timeless jazz club.

The Artist
Grammy Award-winning David Kikoski has been a cornerstone of the New York jazz scene since the 1980s. Last year, he was nominated for a Grammy for The Charles Mingus Centennial Session. With over 20 albums as a leader and countless albums as a sideman, in Chick Corea's words, “The brilliant playing of David Kikoski just smokes. His playing is sparkling.” No argument here!

An Experiment

Rather than ask to be paid in advance and purchase tickets on your behalf before "letting you in," I'm testing out a new m.o., which involves each of us purchasing our tickets and meeting up at our tables. When I bought my center stage ticket ($55.50) about 10 minutes ago, there were still plenty of nearby seats and tables available. Dave Kikoski is a New York gem, so please don't hesitate, because Nothing quite compares to an evening with fellow NY jazz aficionados!

Doors open at 6:00 pm; showtime is 7:00 pm.
