What we’re about

If you would like to learn techniques for putting your vision down on paper, join me for a no-cost drawing session.

Check the group page event post for location details. The group is now meeting in locations outside of San Francisco.

I am an Architect that lives and works in Mill Valley. I was formally trained in an architectural sketch style at the University of Southern California (USC) School of Architecture. I am happy to share the secrets of the technique.

I will provide a demonstration with tips on how to improve your drawing ability before we start drawing. Then we will spread apart to where each of us is drawing roughly the same perspective/view.

Learn techniques for understanding visual depth and representing it with graphite and ink. Learn how to interpret and construct perspective in order to accurately capture the scale of a space. Learn how to recognize objects as elements that, relative to one another, shape the experience of any given environment. Learn how to frame those objects in a composition that constitutes a moment in time.

Bring your own paper pad, sketchbook, pens, graphite pencils, and a sharpener. All skill levels welcome. All styles and mediums are welcome. Some people benefit from a folding chair or stool.

One of my favorite things to do is to be in public, drawing with others.
