East Bay Walk #28 Lower Piedmont Park & #29 Upper Piedmont Park

Details
We extended our coverage to East Bay and we are exploring the routes from this book: "Secret Stairs: East Bay: A Walking Guide to the Historic Staircases of Berkeley and Oakland (https://smile.amazon.com/Secret-Stairs-Historic-Staircases-Berkeley-ebook/dp/B0079M8O8M/)"
We will combine walks #28 and #29.
Piedmont Park is one of the East Bay’s loveliest spots, a heavily wooded glen filled with secret delights. These walks wind through the park, collecting staircases and interesting architecture along the way, and include a stroll through marvelous homes and probably the best bay views in the Oakland hills.
Some of the members usually have lunch together at a nearby restaurant after the walk. Suggestions for the restaurant are welcome.
DISTANCE: 1.8 + 1.6 miles
STEPS: 176 + 482
The meeting point is accessible by buses #26.
• Important to know
Be advised, due to the nature of this area, we may be traversing up steep inclines and staircases. Although we move at a slow pace, this walk may be strenuous at times.
