THIS IS AN IN-PERSON EVENT!
Please join us for our Twelfth Annual Holiday Caroling and Kazoo Giveaway Meetup on the Embarcadero! For several years before the COVID-19 pandemic, we had a tradition of gathering at the Embarcadero each December to sing holiday songs, spread holiday cheer, and give away kazoos so that passersby can play along with us. After two missed years caused by the pandemic, we resumed that tradition in 2022.
December 21, the date of the Winter Solstice, is also Make Music Winter 2025! While Make Music Winter celebrations are typically parades, we'll be staying put. (There's also a Summer Make Music Day every June 21.)

Please bring this songbook with you. Please also bring your acoustic instrument(s) and a music stand. Please also bring clothing for changeable weather -- if the sun is out, we'll be in the sun and it could be warm, but it can get pretty cold there if the sun is obscured and when the wind picks up in the afternoon.
LOCATION: If the weather is nice, we'll meet at Pier 7, just south (toward the Ferry Building) of the intersection of Embarcadero and Broadway. If the weather is wet or misty, we'll meet at the first archway north of the main entrance to Pier 1. Both locations are a short walk from the Ferry Building and public transportation. STEADY RAIN OR DOWNPOUR POSTPONES THIS EVENT. (Fingers crossed for good weather! I'll provide updates as the date gets closer.)
PLEASE NOTE: THE MAP THAT MEETUP HAS PROVIDED FOR THIS EVENT IS WRONG, AS IT INDICATES THAT WE'RE MEETING SOMEWHERE NEAR ORACLE PARK, WHICH IS FAR AWAY FROM PIER 7. I don't know why Meetup does this with this location. Odd-numbered piers (including Pier 7) are NORTH of the Ferry Building, and Oracle Park is 1.5 miles SOUTH of the Ferry Building, near Pier 40.

In 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022, we gave away almost 100 kazoos! In 2018, we raised over $300 to help those affected by the Camp Fire. In 2022 and 2023, we collected money for charities that serve San Francisco's unhoused population. This year we will again give away kazoos and we'll donate any money we receive to charity.
