No host open play volleyball

Details

Description of event.

  1. This event is for all players who want to improve their skill level or who just want to play.
  2. You will be training in a two vs two format using training courts.
  3. You will normally warm-up after you do your own personal warm-up by doing volleyball "pepper" which is moving a volleyball back and forth between players of like ability using volleyball moves.
  4. You then can do cooperative play. During this time you can ask each other for help in desired skills, practice specific skills while playing, and playing every ball. There is no out of bounds and there is no score keeping.
  5. You can also do competitive play with players of similar ability. You will play games and keep score. Occasionally there will be tournaments of varying sizes available for you to participate in.
  6. We have an ample supply of training courts so no one should have to wait in order to train and play. We do have a limited supply of balls, regular courts and nets, and training nets that are available upon request for open play. Currently we are able to meet the demand.
  7. When we aren’t hosting tournaments players who wish may set up available nets and get right to playing.
Summary: Warm-up, training, cooperative play, competitive play, open play, and socialize in between play.

Format details.

  1. Please use the RSVP feature of the event to let me know roughly how many to expect.
  2. Check in at the bottom of access ramp #15.

Bring what you would normally bring to the beach for a four hour stay on the beach. There is a bathroom across the street at the Beach Chalet which opens at 10:00. There are also bathrooms at the Beach Chalet sports field which is a six minute walk or at Safeway which is a five minute walk.

Equipment and all fees associated with putting on this event including creating this MeetUp group is out of pocket. My intent is to make this event readily available and affordable. The pay to play fee is $6 unless you are a student or unable to afford the fee.

You can Venmo me @Dale Alvarez (smirking face emoji) 7330 or Zelle at jobealvarez@yahoo.com or 925-262-7330. Thanks so much! (I love your appreciative “thank-yous” but that doesn’t pay for the nets, balls, anchors, carabiners, gas, etc.) 🥰

You’ll find that all you really need to start to enjoy beach volleyball is a ball and someone to play with (even though we have a bunch of other stuff and many like minded players.

Please consider donating towards nets, balls, and other stuff that contributes to your 3-4 hours of volleyball enjoyment!
