What we’re about
Welcome to San Jose FilmWerks.
If you are an independent filmmaker, a video enthusiast or someone looking to make better creative content then you might want to consider joining us for in-person and online events - all starting this June.
Our goal is to help foster a community of creatives that will be there to support each other, answer questions and eventually get together to create content together. This is a great opportunity for those beginning, industry professionals or seasoned veterans to learn, support and share their knowledge.
This group is sponsored by Harmony Werks a local arts non profit and is associated with the San Jose International Short Film Festival.

Online Discussion via Zoom "10 Things Every Filmmaker Needs to Know"
·OnlineOnlineI recently released an e-book entitled "10 Things Every Filmmaker Needs to Know: Before Submitting to a Short Film Festival" - this was mostly in response to people who were curious about why certain films were selected and others were not. Helpful tips and suggestions and what not to do before submitting your short film.
It is a short essay style e-book and I am adding new chapters to it each month, but I will also be available to discuss some of that info once a month via Zoom in what I am calling "Office Hours".
Not sure if there will be enough interest but the goal is to begin a conversation, answer some questions and hopefully help discover some insight into the project we are working on.
If you know anyone that is interested, please also share the link.
