What we’re about

This group is for all the enthusiasts who is interested in Japanese woodworking hand tools and wood joineries.

Japanese woodworking hand tools have long history and used for building traditional wooden structures and furnitures with joineries.

I am a beginner weekend woodworker, and took woodworking classes in Japan for a year on cutting joineries using only traditional Japanese tools, including kebiki (markers), noko (saws), nomi (chisels), and kanna (planers). I also had a few chances on participating cutting joineries at a renovation site of an traditional old house.

In the first meetup event, I have shared the Japanese woodworking introduction. Here is the link to the slides that was used in the event.
