Mt. Burdell Hike
Details
Join us on this moderate 3.5 mile hike (610 ft) at Mt Burdell Open Space! Meet at the San Andreas trailhead at 475 San Andreas Drive in Novato.
This trail loop explores the beautiful landscapes of the Mount Burdell Open Space and traverses through rolling, oak-studded hills with views of the bay and surrounding peaks and ridges. Hopefully, there will still be some mountain wildflowers to enjoy. This loop is mainly along wide, gravel fire roads with relatively easygoing slopes. The first mile of this loop hike is uphill and then it levels out and goes down. It's about 20% shaded, so be sure to bring water and sun protection. Wear appropriate hiking footwear, and layered clothing. Well-behaved dogs on leash are allowed.
We will do introductions at 9:05 a.m. and begin the hike directly thereafter. Please allow time for parking and getting your stuff together.
Directions: From HWY 101, take the San Marin Drive/Atherton Road exit. Head West on San Marin Drive for 2.4 miles. Take a right at San Andreas Drive to the the trail head (about 0.7 miles). Street parking is on the right hand side near the trailhead.
