La Playa in Point Loma

Details
This is a WEDNESDAY 2.5-mile loop featured in Schad's posthumous work, 50 Best Short Hikes in San Diego. It was also written up in the San Diego Reader a few years ago. It features "fine $9M homes and San Diego Bay and marina views." Just right for a hot summer day!
We start and end at the intersection of Anchorage Lane and Talbot St. in the Point Loma area. (N 32 43.148 W 117 13.873). We'll meet at 9:00 AM and step off at 9:15 AM.
SUGGESTED ROUTE: Take the Rosecrans St. exit from either I-5 or I-8. Follow Rosecrans St. southwest about three miles. Turn left on Talbot St. and go two blocks to the junction of Talbot St. and Anchorage Lane. Park on a nearby street.
The number 28 bus from Old Town Transit Center stops on Anchorage Lane only a few blocks away. It runs about every 20-30 minutes.
Some of the path along the bayside is unpaved, but it is hard-packed. There is a short shady part, a short beach walk, and two "secret passages" through a residential area. Hiking shoes are not required. Wear good walking shoes. We did this hike in August 2018. Dogs are not allowed on beach.
