La Playa & Point Loma

Details
This is a 2.5-mile loop featured in Schad's posthumous work, 50 Best Short Hikes in San Diego. It was also written up in the San Diego Reader a few years ago. It features "fine homes and San Diego Bay and marina views." It also features two large Torrey pines, pictured above.
We'll start and end at the intersection of Anchorage Lane and Talbot St. in the Point Loma area. (N 32 43.148 W 117 13.873). Google maps also identifies this point as "Bessemer Bench". We'll meet at 9:00 AM and step off at 9:15 AM. Notice that, unlike recent similar hikes, this hike is on WEDNESDAY.
Leashed dogs are allowed.
We've done this hike before, and it is usually a very popular hike. For descriptions, including pictures, see

SUGGESTED ROUTE: Take the Rosecrans St. exit from either I-5 or I-8. Follow Rosecrans St. southwest about three miles. Turn left on Talbot St. and go two blocks to the junction of Talbot St. and Anchorage Lane. Park on a nearby street.
The number 28 bus from Old Town Transit Center stops on Anchorage Lane only a few blocks away. It runs about every 20-30 minutes.
Some of the path along the bayside is unpaved, but it is hard-packed. There is a short shady part. There may also be a short beach walk on sand. Hiking shoes are not required. Wear good walking shoes. Use sun protection. Take a camera if you wish.
There are no restrooms at the trailhead. The nearest public restrooms are on Shelter Island.
The route includes two "secret passages" between houses, sort of like the famous Rolando "catwalks".
