Sweetwater Summit Regional Park

6miles , 400ft ascent. No hazards.

We start at Morrison Pond Staging Area, walk through an open preserve area, past Bonita Golf Course up a short, steep climb to the water tower above the Sweetwater Reservoir. Then we walk through the Sweetwater County Park and Campground, stop at the restrooms. We continue to San Miguel Rd around the baseball fields (home of the 2015 West Division Little League Champions) and back to Bonita Golf Course to complete the loop around it to Morrison Pond Staging Area.
There are no facilities at the Morrison Pond Staging Area. There are bathrooms and water at the Campground, approximately the midpoint of the hike. Dogs on leash. We last visited here on 9/24. https://www.meetup.com/sandiegodayhikers/events/303606939

From San Diego:
From North take 52 East to 125 South to 54 West to Briarwood Rd, exit 5, turn Right, then left on Sweetwater Rd. and an almost immediate right into the Sweetwater Regional Park, Morrison Pond Staging Area.

Alternatively, take any road to 805 South to 54 East to Briarwood Rd, Exit 5, turn Right, then Left on Sweetwater Rd and an almost immediate right into the Sweetwater Regional Park, Morrison Pond Staging Area.

From South – follow directions above from 54 onto Briarwood Rd etc….
