San Elijo Lagoon Loop and Annie's Canyon

Details
5.0 miles, 250ft ascent. No hazards - except possible claustrophobia in the slot canyon.
We will climb up to a view point through the canyon, which is a steep, narrow one-way slot canyon with a ladder/stairway though the steepest part. Or you can use the two-way trail for both the ascent and descent.
We'll cross San Elijo Creek on a pedestrian/bicycle bridge under Interstate 5, but not go as far as the intersection with Sta Helena trail, and then head back to the lagoon visitor center. The visitor center has rest rooms and a number of interesting displays. Last here on 2/27/2025
