Juaquapin-Eastside trails - Cuyamaca

5.8mi 750ft ascent. No hazards.
A very pretty scenic hike in Cuyamaca Ranco state park. Passes near Dyar Spring.

From San Diego: Take I-8 east to exit 40 (Highway 79, Descanso, Japatul Vly Rd). Turn left (north) on Highway 79 (don't miss the place where Highway 79 makes a left turn) and continue to the large parking area on the right close to mile 4.8.

A $10 day use pass is needed. Either bring $10, or pay by phone at the start or purchase with credit card from a vending machine behind the kiosk at Green Valley Campground (closed December through March).
Dogs are not allowed.
