We're a friendly San Diego community that meets regularly to discuss JavaScript and the web. Join us at workshops, monthly lightning talk evenings, and many more focussed events throughout the year to hone your skills or get your feet wet.

We are open to developers, tinkerers, hobbyist, experts, and individuals that put themselves at any skill level. We are a welcome group that is guided by our Code of Conduct (http://sandiegojs.org/code-of-conduct) and the core value of being nice to one another.

Fundamental JS

American Addiction Centers

On the 4th Wednesday of every month, FundamentalJS meets to learn about one element or building block of Javascript. We talk about the concept and learn by doing on our laptops. We are open to everyone coming in, from beginners who are learning the language to established coders who want to brush up on a concept. SCHEDULE 6:30 - Networking, Code Challenges 7:00 - Pass by Value or Reference? (technical) 7:30 - Getting Past Tricky Interview Questions (soft skills) 8:00 - Burning Questions PARKING Unfortunately we cannot help with parking. Street parking is free after 6pm and you can park yellow commercial loading zones after 6 as well. There is also a paid ACE lot just north of the American Addiction Centers building.

San Diego JS Monthly Meeting

Intuit San Diego Campus in the Summit Café

Speakers: - Andrew Lisowski, Intuit software engineer, will be speaking on "Taking the stress out of releases with continuous delivery". Andrew will walk through the reasons you should automate publishing your code using auto, an automated release tool. (30 min) - Harris Borawski, Intuit software engineer, will speak on "React Hooks." Harris will share how Functional components are becoming fully featured. Add state, lifecycle code and more to functional components easily, and concisely in React 16.7 (15 minutes) San Diego JavaScript meets the first Tuesday of each month and every other month, it's at Intuit campus. This event will take place at Intuit's Cafe. @ 5:30 pm, doors to Intuit cafe open. You can park in any available Intuit parking spots or in the parking garage. Want to give a talk? ReactJS Monthly Meetup

American Addiction Centers

The "re"-introduction of the monthly ReactJS Meetup begins March 13th at American Addiction Centers on 4th and B Downtown San Diego! Taking place every 2nd Wednesday of the Month, the React meetup will cover fundamental React concepts, libraries and tooling, updates/news in the React community, and anything else related. The event is open to everyone whether you are just beginning to learn React or an established coder looking to broaden their skillset. SCHEDULE 6:30 - Networking, Introductions, and Q&A 7:00 - Lightning Talks (10-15 min/each) 8:00 - Burning Questions 8:20 - Show and Tell SPEAKERS We still have three slots left for speakers! BYOP Night @ Synergy Coworks Centre

The Synergy Centre

On the third Tuesday of every month, we get together and work on javascript projects, learn from each other, and generally hang out. Bring your own project (BYOP), your questions, and any ideas you may have! Food and drinks will be provided courtesy of (https://www.sdcs.io). We welcome people of all backgrounds and skill levels.
