For our May Monthly Meeting, our theme is focused on “Empowering You to Lead from Any Position”.

And I am excited to invite you to our upcoming networking event featuring an inspiring talk by Professor Bryan Bennett, entitled "Being a Better Leader With or Without a Leadership Title."

As we all know, leadership is not limited to those with formal titles. In fact, there are many ways in which we can all practice leadership and contribute to the success of our organizations.

For our May monthly meeting, Professor Bryan Bennett will shed light on how we can engage in continuous leadership improvement, whether we hold a title or not.

This event is open to all professionals, regardless of your level in the organization or whether you hold a leadership or supervisory position. Join us for an insightful evening of networking and learning.

Title: Being a Better Leader With or Without a Leadership Title

A title does not make you leader. Not having a title doesn’t mean you can’t be a leader either. There are plenty of ways people can and should lead whether they are in a leadership position or not.

Leadership is a process, not a position. Titled leaders must engage in a continuously improving leadership practice to be effective. There are also many practices a non-titled leader can engage in to demonstrate their value to the team and the organization.

Organizations also need to recognize that not all employees want to have formal leadership responsibilities or should be put in a leadership position. Instead, they must identify valuable employees who don’t want or should not be in a leadership position and engage them through the work they perform.

What the Audience Will Learn

1. Practice leadership with or without a formal title.
2. Better engage non-titled leaders on their team to keep their work fulfilling.
3. Recognize team members that do not or should not be in a titled leadership position.
