You're Invited! October 7-8 Living Library - in San Diego's Balboa Park & online
Do you have stories about your life experiences you'd be willing to share? Stereotypes and misconceptions you wish people could get past?
In our Living Library events, we create a safe way for people to ask questions of our storybooks they couldn't ask in ordinary contexts, like "What's it like to be you?" and "How do you deal with day to day living?"
We are now actively looking for new books and other volunteers for our Oct 7-8 events and beyond! Interested? Lots of ways to help, in person or online.
Times: 10am to 6pm on the weekend of October 7 & 8
Locations: San Diego's MakerFaire at Balboa Park and online on Google Hangouts.
If you would you consider joining us as a storybook or volunteer, here's what you can do next: 1) take a look at our Storybook signup at

Exciting UPDATES! Can you join us anytime over the weekend of October 6-9? In person at Balboa Park or online?
Our activities will center especially on our Human Library (humanlibrary.org) and we want to invite you to participate as a reader and a book!
Lots of other volunteer and service learning activities available - the kind which look great on LinkedIn and college applications. Including opportunities to go beyond the weekend and get more involved in the wiki movement.
Our various events happened to coincide with the annual San Diego Maker Faire (sandiego.makerfaire.com). We've been invited by the head of MakerFaire to run the interactive programs and activities we want to share across the second floor of the San Diego Museum of Man (museumofman.org), so we are launching Allie's Adventure in WikiWonderland there.
American Foundation for the Blind (afb.org) is helping make the events happen, and sending their top leadership to help bring more of the blind community into events that aren't as inclusive as we want them to be. We also have Tommy Edison (blindfilmcritic.com) joining us to help emcee and interview people throughout our events.
We have discounts for overnights at the downtown San Diego hostel - with a discount code we can give you if you RSVP.
More details coming soon. RSVP if you want updates! We've got an intention to simultaneously facilitate some great conversations online while the events are going on - all depends on who wants to participate! Can't make it here in person? RSVP to learn more about what we're setting up online!
All our planning is coming together! Very exciting! Want to join us live or online?
Questions? Comments? High fives and fist bumps? Send them!
