San Diego Wikiphoto scavenger hunt

In February 2016 we started WikiSoCal editathons and meetups here at the Mission Valley Library and we are very grateful to be here again! We think it's one of the most beautiful branch libraries to be in.

This should be the 24th Wikipedia meetup in San Diego County.

Wikipedia is one of the leading resources of knowledge for anyone who has access to the internet. Make an impact by helping contribute to the free encyclopedia which anyone can edit, by adding free images to articles that need them (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikipedia_requested_photographs_in_San_Diego_County,_California). Come join us as we go over the basics (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Photograph_your_hometown) of (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:How_to_take_pictures_for_Wikimedia_Commons) photography (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photography), and collaborate in improving content.

to potentially be utilized to in articles related to those photographs in Wikipedia.Update attendees on the current status of the

user group application (https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/San_Diego_Wikimedians)

Proposed itinerary

12:00PM / 1200 - 12:40PM / 1240: Initial gathering. Receive a list of locations which need a photograph. Separate into teams to take photographs.

12:40PM / 1240 - 4:00 PM /1600: Travel around San Diego County to take photographs.

4:00 PM / 1600 - 5:00 PM / 1700: Final gathering. Upload photographs to Wikimedia Commons.
