San Francisco to Sausalito via the Marin Headlands

Details
Celebrate the summer solstice while playing tourist at home on this urban hike through the northern tier of San Francisco, across the Golden Gate Bridge and over the Marin Headlands into Sausalito. Our route will include Telegraph and Russian Hills, Fort Mason, the Marina Green, and great views on our route through the Marin Headlands.
Approximately 13.5 miles and 1,500 feet of elevation gain with early-out options available. For those wanting a shorter hike, you can take the shoreline route through Fort Baker on the Marin side of the Golden Gate Bridge for a 9 - 10 mile route with approximately 900 feet of elevation gain, and return on an earlier ferry. Moderate pace, with stops to enjoy views and the urban landscape. This hike is not for speed demons or gazelles, but this is not a hike for those just getting into shape. Hikers with relaxed attitudes especially welcome.
