Redwood Regional Park: 6.6 miles. Stream, Tres Sendas, French, Orchard, & Bridle

This event is sponsored by the Sierra Club's Sierra Singles group. But everybody is welcome on the group's hikes, regardless of their relationship status.

This will be a moderate (2B) 6.6 mile, ~1,000' elevation gain hike through Reinhardt Redwood East Bay Regional Park. We will be climbing steadily a fairly gentle grade for about the first half of the hike, with a brief increase in grade as we reach the 2½ mile mark. We'll then have a few smaller ups-and-downs until about the 3⅓ mile mark, after which we'll stop for lunch.

After lunch, the trail will become much flatter, with the exception of the last bit, which is a relatively steep descent.

There is a $5.00 parking fee to park inside the park. Some people like to park along Redwood Road and hike in and out the roughly extra ¼ mile to the trailhead.

There are toilets and potable water at the start and end of the hike.

Signup Instructions: Signature of a Liability Waiver is required for participation in all Sierra Club outings. You'll be asked to sign the Waiver by the leader before the hike begins. If you would like to preview a copy of the Waiver before the hike, please email bdhowell@gmail.com.

Bring: Good shoes, appropriate clothing, 2.0 liters of H20, lunch, snacks, maybe something to share (cookies and candies always go over well).

Meeting Location: We will meet at the Canyon Meadow Staging area off of Redwood Road. Parking is often congested and you may have to park at one of the other lots along the road, or along Redwood Road outside of the park.

Carpool: We recommend that you not carpool unless you are traveling with family members. COVID is still a threat.

Carpools are at the risks of the participants.

Cancellation Policy: Any rain cancels.

Dogs (other than service animals)
Dogs are not permitted on this hike. (Dogs are not permitted on any Sierra Club outing unless specifically permitted in the individual outing's description. Further, some venues prohibit even service animals.)
