Something New!😀SUNDAY FUNDAY😀- PV/San Pedro Tide Pools Hike🌊💦💧

LET'S TRY SOMETHING NEW!!!

We scouted this hike in March and discovered we could get to the Tide Pools of Palos Verdes. Approximately 4 - 5 miles. We'll hike down to the Tide Pools and stay there for 30 minutes or so. Then we'll hike back up through Deane Dana Friendship Park to admire the panoramic views before we getting back to our cars. After, we'll get ice-cream & dinner somewhere (Location TBD).

• START TIME: We usually wait 15 minutes grace, but please try to arrive early.
• DISTANCE: ~4-5 miles
• ELEVATION: ~ 700 ft.
• HIKE TYPE: It is Reverse Hike, however. We hike down hill and must come back up to get to the cars.
• STEEPNESS: The first part of the hill is short, but steep. Take your time and you'll be fine. Wear shoes with grip. Hiking Poles do help.

PARKING: COME EARLY TO SECURE A SPOT.

• 5. If you're running SUPER late and can't find a spot, you can park on W25th near W 25th & Catalina Vista and wait for us to come down the HILL. We'll be down by around 1:30 pm - 1:45 pm. Street Parking near W 25th and Catalina Vista (Read the Signs) - LINK
• MEETING LOCATION: Meet at the Steps of the Visitor Center
• WHERE TO FIND US: Look for the large group of people by the Visitor Center.
• RESTROOMS: Flush Toilets 🚽 available in the Visitor Center
• DOGS: 🐕‍🦺 🦮DOGS ON LEASH OKAY in the Park! DOGS not allowed on the Beach. We will be down at the tide pools. You're welcome to stop short of the tide pools and wait for us.
• WHAT TO BRING: BRING 3 LITERS OF WATER, A HAT, SUNSCREEN, COMFORTABLE SHOES, SNACKS, WARM CLOTHES, MITTENS OR GLOVES, LIGHT JACKET

Deane Dana Friendship Park and Nature Center offers breath-taking panoramic views of San Pedro, Santa Catalina Island and the Los Angeles / Long Beach harbor complex. Comprised of 123 acres, it is also home to the beautiful, captive-bred and federally endangered Palos Verdes Blue butterfly.
