Griffith Park at Mount Hollywood and Cedar Grove🌲🌲PIZZA AFTER!!! 🍕
Details
This is a 7 mile hike to Mt. Hollywood on the Mineral Wells Trail, the Bill Eckert Trail and the North trail. We will spend a bit of time checking out the view there, then proceed down "Hogback" to the beautiful Cedar Grove (E.T, Forest) where we will take our break and have some snacks and generally socialize.
Distance is 7 miles round trip. Elevation gain 1100 feet.
Medium pace and medium difficulty with some moderately steep trails.
We will leave at 12:50. (Includes 20 minute grace time)
It will take an hour to get to Mount Hollywood. After leaving there it will take about a half hour to get to Cedar Grove.
We will then hike back down to the lot via the Coolidge and Lower Beacon Trails. We should be back to the lot by 4:00 or 4:30.
Bring Along:
-GOOD HIKING SHOES
-MAYBE POLES IF YOU WANT FOR HOGBACK
-AT LEAST 2 LITERS OF WATER
-SNACKS FOR CEDAR GROVE
-START TIME: 12:50 P.M. (Includes 20 minute grace time)
-DISTANCE: 7 miles
-ELEVATION: 1100 feet
-PARKING: Should be plenty of parking in lot 2
-MEETING LOCATION: Meet at the staircase on the north end of Merry-Go-Round parking lot-2. (Map pin leads to this spot)
-RESTROOMS: Toilets at the parking lot only
-DOGS: 🐶 DOGS ON LEASH OKAY!

We will go to Ozzy's Apizza in NOHO afterward at 5300 Lankershim Blvd Suite 103 (entrance is located off of Chandler Blvd), North Hollywood, CA 91601 (Free parking garage next door)
