🌳RUSTIC CANYON (new route)🌸🌼🖼️ SUNDAY FUNDAY!

🌳⛰️RUSTIC CANYON / Murphy Ranch 🐄 hike is a lovely setting with a "😱 shady" past that adds a little EXTRA adventure and local lore. We'll start on the fire road and then follow a lovely winding trail down into the lush canyon. NO STAIRS down this time. Those of you who feared the 509 narrow steps down can breathe easy. ;) We will pass by the famous graffiti house 🎨 🖼️ stopping just long enough for the photo opps and continue farther down through the canyon, following the stream and taking in the cool beauty around us. We will take our refreshment break in a shady grove streamside before turning around and meandering back through the canyon, spending most of the walking time there to shelter from the heat (high of 82 forecast), before taking the same path back up to the fire road where we came down. The fire road offers beautiful views of the canyon and the ocean.

START TIME: We usually wait 15 minutes grace, but please try to arrive early to find parking.
DISTANCE: 5 miles
ELEVATION: about 700 ft
PARKING: Parking on the surrounding streets, on the side of the street in residential that doesn’t say no parking. no fee.

Street parking at the intersection of Capri Drive and Casale Road (also try the streets that run parallel to Casale). *Read STREET SIGNS!

MEETING LOCATION: Meet near the intersection of the Capri Drive and Casale Road.
STARTING LOCATION: We begin walking up Sullivan Ridge Fire Road.

RESTROOMS: No Toilets to count on, just the "🌳FACILITREES🌳" which are abundant. Stop by some place before arriving.

DOGS: 🐶 DOGS ON LEASH OKAY!

WHAT TO BRING: BRING 3 LITERS OF WATER, A HAT, SUNSCREEN, COMFORTABLE SHOES, SNACKS !
